He graduated from the University of Michigan, School of Aeronautical Engineering in February 1942. He worked for 8-1/2 years at Curtiss-Wright Airplane Division in Columbus, OH until October 1950 when he went to work for Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, MD. He worked there until he retired in 1981. While at Fairchild he served Chief of Materials Engineering, Chief of Structures, and (last) as Project Engineer on the F-14 fin and rudder.

He died 31 May 1998.
