Science fiction enthusiast since 1936. I see the Earth as the incubator of intelligent (?) life (or all life) in this part of the galaxy. If we do not emigrate we eventually will die out (whether we deserve it or not). Through mere exhaustion, radiation, etc., sun ageing (Nova, etc.) Religious &/or racial (or other) intolerances. NASA fits the roll of crucible & determine who will survive or not, (whose gene line, if any).
I have been a pragmatic philosopher and my favorite lectures have been on thought dis orders/ primitive thinking patterns vs realistic logic and analysis. Thank you to Edward E. (Doc) Smith and the Lensman Series (circa 1919) for expanding/ awakening my mind.
