Born 1920 Detmold, Germany. Obtained Glider A-Badge at age 15. German Airforce from 1939 until 1945. In WWII flew 329 Bomber missions as Commander/Navigator (1st LR) in the Heinkel 111.
At age 22, P.O.W. in Russia from 1943 until end of 1948. U.S. Citizen since 1956. Lifelong interest in all aspects of aviation and space exploration.
