My father honorably served his country by enlisting in the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1940, continuing to serve through WWII, and after in the U. S. Air Force until his retirement in 1962. He remained active in the aircraft industry for many years afterword, working in the Wichita, Kansas aircraft plants of Beech, Lear, and Cessna.
