    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Mr. Herbert Lee Richard

John, born June 2, 1952, has had a love of aviation since early childhood days. Whenever an airplane flew overhead, John’s head turned skyward to marvel and identify the airplane by sight and/or sound. This love has translated into becoming a World War II aviation buff, reading stories and becoming knowledgeable on the names and heroes of the air war with Germany.
A solid supporter of aviation has led John to the Reno Air Races for the past 18 consecutive years – publishing articles of the races in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics publications.
Recently, John participated as a crew member of a fast P-51 racer.
After college, John took a position with McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) in Phoenix, Arizona, where he managed a simulator development group.
While there, he earned a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. His present position is in contract management on the advanced simulator for the AH 64 Apache Helicopter.
For recreation, John is a glider pilot and is an avid hiker with his wife and dog. In addition, he travels widely and visits aviation displays, shows, museums and recreation facilities all over the county and in England.
