Born September 15, 1922 to George and Gertrude Lindsay in McMinnville, OR. Attended public school there and at Oregon State College (now university).
Served 3+ years in the Army Signal Corps in World War II.
Graduated in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in 1947. Worked as a mechanical engineer for US Army engineers, Westinghouse, General Electric Co., and Perkin-Elmer Corp. From 1962 until 1986 worked on space reconnaissance systems. Retired in 1986.
Married to Barbara Anne Hall in 1948. Four daughters and seven grandchildren.
