Born February 6, 1926 in New York City. Graduated from Bronx High School of Science in 1943 and from New York University College of Engineering in 1946 with a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering degree.

In July 1946, started career as a civilian Flight Test Engineer at the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, Maryland. Was responsible for the performance, stability and control tests on a number of Navy carrier type aircraft prior to their acceptance for service use. Most notable of these aircraft was the Douglas AD (A-1) Skyraider which later served so well in Korea and Vietnam.

Joined the Bell Aircraft Company in Buffalo, New York in March 1951 as the Assistant Flight Test Engineer for Bell's flights of the X-1 #3, X-1A, B, D and X-2 rocket engine research aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base, California to demonstrate their readiness for further supersonic test flights by the Air Force. Developed the detail check lists for, and supervised, the mating of the X-aircraft to its B-9/B-50 launch aircraft, loading the rocket engine propellants, jettisoning residual propellants after landing and demating the X-aircraft from the launch aircraft following captive flights.

Left Bell Aircraft in August 1953 and was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Company in Burbank, California as a Flight Test Engineer. Conducted flight tests on the Model 1049 and subsequent Constellation transport aircraft and the F-104 Starfighter to demonstrate compliance with performance requirements, acquire data for use in flight operation manuals and develop improvements.

In December 1957 transferred to Lockheed Missiles and Space Company at its original home in Van Nuys, California as Missile Flight Test Engineer. Participated in X-7 ramjet engine missile flight test activities at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The X-7 was the flying test bed for the Marquardt ramjet engine later used on the Bomarc bomber missile.

Returned to Lockheed-California Company in Burbank in July 1961 as a Research Specialist. Involved with various spacecraft and rigid rotor hybrid helicopter engineering activities including Systems Integration and proposal writing.

Assigned as a Customer Engineer on the L-1011 TriStar transport aircraft program in January 1967. Provided technical sales briefings and liaison between Lockheed's engineering, sales and marketing personnel and customer airlines personnel as part of the overall sales activities.

In May 1985 transferred to the Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale, California as a Staff Engineer. Responsible for the development of technical requirements for the design of the Space Cargo Transportation System; a container for transporting maximum size Space Shuttle Payloads by barge, road and in a C-5A cargo aircraft while maintaining an internal clean-room and temperature controlled environment. Managed the preparation of presentation materials for Air Force Design Reviews.

Retired on January 1, 1987. Primary hobby consists of writing letters to regional newspapers and to aviation and other type magazines. Newspaper contributions are mostly commentary on local civic matters. Magazine letters provide supplementary information, based on personal experience, to previously published articles. Nearly 75% of these letters have been published. Also contribute background information and photographs to writers of aviation books.
