Mike was inspired by his TWA Captain uncle to begin flying at the age of 17. After flying various general aviation aircraft for the next 15 years, Mike was selected as a helicopter pilot for Los Angeles County Sheriff. He flew helicopters and fixed wing law enforcement missions until his retirement in 2003.
Mike then flew corporate aircraft for Northrop Grumman.
