    Mr. Planzer’s name was placed on the Wall of honor by the Global Air Mobility Requirements Division at Air Force Headquarters.
    Mr. Planzer began his aviation career as a Flight Engineer during the Vietnam era and spent 25 years in the FAA where he held a variety of Air Traffic Controller and management positions. In May of 1998 he became the Executive Director of the DoD Policy Board on Federal Aviation and was DoD’s champion for mission critical issues pertaining to Air Traffic Control policy, airspace and radio frequency spectrum.
    Mr. Planzer’s direct intervention with the FAA Administrator during the Kosovo crisis ensured B-2 Bombers received priority handling on 26-hour bombing missions. He was directly responsible for securing overflight privileges from foreign nations during the War on Terrorism in Afghanistan. His work to preserve radio frequency spectrum for military data links had a direct and pivotal effect on the success of U.S. Air Power during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
