Mr. Levelle, of Glendale, California, was a Research and Development Engineer for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Burbank. “Phil’s” 30-year career included the following projects: Manager of the V/STOL, Manager of the Chemical Low Altitude Missile Program, the F-104 International Program, NF-104 Rocket-Powered Aerospace Trainer, F-104 Drone and Zero Length Launch (ZELL), Escape Capsule for ASD, the U-2, TFX, VAX, and Powerplant Design on the F-80 (1944) and F-94.
