Mr. Perkins worked as a Senior Aerospace Engineer for NACA/NASA for over 50 years specializing in flight and wind tunnel research to solve the hazard of icing on aircraft in flight. He characterized the icing clouds from which the data were used for certification of aircraft to fly in icing conditions. He authored over 30 reports and a book on flight in icing. He became an Associate Fellow in the AIAA and served on many aircraft safety organizations.
