    Upon graduation Aero Engr June 1944, started work at NACA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. Two year "military furlough" in Army including one year in Philippines. Transferred to NACA/NASA headquarters 1951 Washington, DC for rest of career. In aeronautics specialized mostly on helicopter, V/STOL aircraft and landing/take-off research. In space, specialized largely on programs involving reentry heating, space environmental effects, and spacecraft landing/retrieval. Was manager of many programs involving research rocket launches at Wallops Island and Cape Canaveral using Scout, three stage Atlas, and Saturn IB and V rockets. Enjoyed attending 50th anniversary (I was in first graduating class) of KU Aero Engr Dept in 1994.
