    Air and Space Leader

    Honored by:
    Ms. Rosemary A. Duckworth

Rick Duckworth learned early in his life that aviation was a passion he could not deny. He earned his living as a corporate aircraft mechanic and pilot for Total Petroleum in Alma, Michigan. While he enjoyed and was very good at working on modern airplanes, his passion was easily anything that was built from “tube and rag”. Rick was very active in the Antique Airplane Association in Blakesburg, Iowa, and was events chairman for both the Cub Club and Luscombe Association.
Perhaps his greatest contribution to sport aviation was his long-standing volunteer work as a classic aircraft judge at EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Few details were missed by his experienced eyes, and he photographed the best and the unusual each year.
He spent most of his life devoted to aviation and shared that knowledge with many aviation friends and acquaintances throughout the country.
