Born in Queens, New York on January 10, 1926 to Viola Pab1sz Allen and Clarence M. Allen. Attended PS. 136 School in Queens and Brooklyn Technical H.S. graduating June 1943. Joined the Navy V-5 flight training program November 1943 and was designated as naval aviator on December 1946. Attended Hobart College NY, St. Mary’s College, CA. and Cornell University, NY, graduating with a BME degree in February 1950. Member of tau beta pi and pi tau sigma engineering honorary societies. Attended Stanford University ca. And earned a Master of Science degree June 1951. Joined the Marquardt Company in July 1951 and participated in the development of various supersonic ramjet engines. In 1969, was promoted to vice
President of propulsion which included ramjets as well as precision reaction control rockets used in various space programs including the Apollo and space shuttle. Retired from the Marquardt Company in 1978 and currently works as a consultant to various airframe and missile companies in application of ramjet propulsion for DOD programs.
