    Mr. Robert D. Miller, a native of Ohio, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and participated in the development of the first Navy airborne guided missile. After working for both the Navy and the Army Signal Corps in the field of electronics engineering, he joined NASA as a critical member of the Manned Space Flight Program’s Worldwide Tracking Station Network Management team. During the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programs, Mr. Miller coordinated station tests prior to missions and scheduled the stations for flight operations. He retired in 1981 after 20 years of involvement with space exploration.
