    Aero engine engineer -- extraordinary. BS Aeronautical Engineering, University of Notre Dame, 1959. Joined Pratt & Whitney in February 1960 as an experimental test engineer.

    Worked on every commercial jet engine Pratt & Whitney ever built, and all military engine programs except J58, J52, and F100. These included the first turbofan jet engine -- the JT3D, TF33-P7 (military version), and later on the TF30 engine for the F-111 and A-7 aircraft. He worked on every JT9D model derivative except the PW4000. He was the first ever JT9D Program Manager, and the JT9D-7R4 was named after him. Bob also launched the PW2037 on the C-17, and the PW2037 on the Boeing 757.

    Bob joined the Military Sales Dept in 1966 and became Director of Technology Sales in 1970. Became a Director in Airline Sales -- Americas in 1972 and then appointed as Vice President of Sales and Customer Support -- Americas. Was responsible for over $7.5 billion in sales of the V2500 engine, including International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), United, Jet Blue, American West, TACA, TAM, and Lan Chile airlines.

    He convinced Pratt & Whitney and Rolls Royce to form International Aero Engines (IAE), an international consortium which designed, certified, and currently produces and supports the highly successful B2500 engine for the Airbus A320 aircraft family. Bob joined IAE in 1984 as Director of New Applications and was IAE's first President and CEO.
