    Honored by:

Stan Lyons was employed as an aeronautical engineer for several years from the late 1950s through the early 1970s by the British Aircraft Corporation (now British Aerospace), in Weybridge, Surrey, England. He worked primarily as a dynamicist, specializing in acoustics and vibrations. He holds a Master's degree in this subject from the University of Southampton, England.

Among the aircraft that he worked on were the Vickers Viscount, VC-10, BAC-111, TSR2, and Concorde. Since leaving the aircraft industry and immigrating to the United States in 1974, he has maintained his keen interest in aviation and space technology and development, and is an avid supporter of the United States' programs to advance this type of research and exploration.
