    Honored by:
    Ms. Debra J. Korta

Mr. Stephen Korta’s interest in aviation began with his employment with American Airlines, where he served as a dedicated employee for 41 years. Starting as a Morse Code teletype operator in 1939 -- just one year after Congress formalized the aviation industry by establishing the Civil Aeronautics Authority – and retiring as the Station Manager for American Airlines in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Korta served the aviation industry with distinction.
His professional career and interest in aviation enabled him and his family to fly around the world. In addition, Mr. Korta’s only son, Stephen, developed a passion for aviation and went on to become a recreational pilot and the Airport Administrator for Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
Thanks to Mr. Korta’s hard work and long-standing commitment to serving the aviation industry, he can be rest assured that his interest and dedication lives on through his son.
