    Honored by:

Mr. Stephen E. Korta, II, AAE, developed a passion for aviation at an early age as he watched his father dedicate his career to American Airlines for 41 years. In addition, Steve’s mother was involved in the travel business by turning around floundering agencies into profit makers. This early exposure to the thrill of flight led Stephen to obtain his pilot’s license in 1971. He also co-founded the Boston College Flying Club.
Beginning in 1994, Stephen was named as Chairman of the Bradley Airport Commission by Governor John Rowland. As time progressed, Stephen’s interest in the world of aviation provided the impetus and courage for him to change careers. Stephen is now the Airport Administrator for Bradley International Airport, New England’s second largest airport.
Stephen was recently honored to serve as the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Connecticut representative to participate in the “50 Flags to Kitty Hawk”. He presented National Park Officials with a proclamation from the Governor and a Connecticut state flag.
Stephen has also realized a dream by living in a residential fly-in community where he can indulge his interest in antique airplanes and fly his 1946 Fairchild 24.
