    Thomas Richard Johnson 1940-2014, brother to William Robert Johnson, Jr. and John Arthur Johnson

    Tom went right from graduating from the University of Vermont to the Pratt and Whitney Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was recruited by GE and initially worked on airfoil design of turbine blades, advancing to aircraft engine systems design and implementation. He was involved in the development of the engines that powered the Concorde SST as well as various engines for the military. He developed test systems to test completed engines so as to qualify them for FAA and military standards. His last project was the invention of a cannon capable of simulating hail to test engines at supersonic speeds. Tom is survived by his wife, two (2) children and five (5) grandchildren.
