    Graduate Methodist Hospital School of Nursing Memphis, Tennessee, December 1968. Awarded the Faculty Award for outstanding achievement in utilizing all aspects of the education program in the School of Nursing.

    1980, Lecturer to nurses, Naval Regional Medical Center, Naples, Italy.

    Delivered the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing Address to the Graduating Class of December 1993.

    President, Hein Park Garden Club, Memphis, Tennessee, 1987-1988. Spearheaded the effort and served as the chairman of the committee to put the neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. This was accomplished November 16, 1988.

    1995-1996 Served as President of the Memphis and Shelby County Medical Society Alliance. Her emphasis for the year was a program she originated and founded called Women’s Health Partners, “Partnerships in Health for Life” designed to improve women’s health through a partnership of concern and caring. The health partners were to encourage and support each other to develop and maintain their wellness through preventive medicine. The program was designed to make certain no “health partner” failed to receive the motivation and care so vital to a vibrant and healthy life - style.

    Served as a Board Member for the Church Health Center, 1997-2000, Christian Mission Concerns of Tennessee Foundation, 1993-1999, Crichton College, 1993-99, and Briarcrest Christian School (1993-1995), in Memphis. Also, a member of the Rhodes College Forum Class of 1991. From 1992-1998, Served as Executive Assistant for the Paul and Katy Piper Foundation, Christ Is Our Salvation (C.I.O.S.).

    Served as Executive Board Trustee of the Tennessee Baptist Convention (1997-2000). As a Baptist Children’s Homes Trustee (1992-1995), she served as the State - Wide Campaign Chairman of the “Building on our Tradition of Caring Campaign” for Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes. Funds were raised statewide for the Boy’s Ranch campaign to raise money to build homes for troubled boys. Rear Admiral Joseph and Cathy Miller provided funds to build the Miller-Parker House in honor of their parents, Dr. and Mrs. Joe H.
    (Elsie) Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Ernestine) Parker.

    First Baptist Church, Brandon, Florida, served as a member of the Vision 2010 Team (2004), Personnel Committee, (2005-2007) (2009-2010) (2011-2014), and on the First Baptist Church Brandon Foundation Board (2011-2015).
