WWII tail gunner and aerial photographer in B-26 Marauder, The Dodo Bird. Flew 53 missions with the 319th Squadron, 12th Air Force. Awarded 2 Presidential Unit Citations, Air Medal with 5 clusters for pinpoint bombing of military targets in Africa, Italy and France. Presented with the Croix de Guerre by General Charles DeGaulle. He was especially proud of their raids around Florence, not one historical building or bridge was destroyed. Served as a crew chief in the Korean War and toured afterwards with the Helicopter Demonstration Team. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal as crew chief for 1st and 2nd Army.
