Joined USAAF in ’39. Stationed at Selfridge Field 94th PG. Was one of the ORIGINAL seven men in the 7th FS, 49th Fighter Group that went to the South Pacific, Australia and New Guinea, returning to the US in 1943. He trained mechanics in “how to” combat maintenance at Luke Field. He returned overseas in the 1950s to Ashiya AFB, Japan, then returned to Whiteman AFB, MO there to retire after over 20 years of service in the nearby town of Sedalia where he still resides with his wife of 60 years.
