Drafted US Army 1944. Served in Infantry overseas in Luzon - transferred into Transportation after Philippines, sent to Guam in an Engineering Battalion. Returned home in 1946. Enlisted in USAF in 1947, then served in Japan and Korea with 17th Bomb Wing in Flight Test & Inspection Group in Miho. Returned to USA served at many SAC bases, worked on C-47, C-54, C-119, T-6, T-33, F-80, F-84, F-86, KC-135, B-17, B-52, and B-58. Retired in 1966 from Bunker Hiull AFB. The military service was a tremendous adventure with many facets of education in aircraft engines, supervision and management techniques. The next 20 years in civilian careers as a Quality Control Inspector and a Safety Director rounded out my working activities. Am looking forward to bringing our eight grandchildren to visit the enlarged Air and Space Museum in the near future.
