    Hilary Peter Brzostowski, “Ski”, enlisted in the US Air Force on 23 Feb. 1956. He initially specialized in the maintenance of the F-86 Sabre, but quickly became a Crew Chief and Master Instructor for the B-47 at Amarillo AFB, TX. He accumulated many hours of flight time in the B-47 and earned his Enlisted Air Crew wings. From 1965 through 1966 he was stationed at Bien Hoa AB during the Vietnam War. There he served as the NCOIC in the 303 Munitions Maintenance Squadron of the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing. Following reassignment back to the US, he graduated from the NCO Academy. He finally retired as a MSgt on 30 June 1977 at Fairchild AFB, WA, after 22.5 years of service.

    During his career, he earned the Air Force Commendation medal with 2 oak leaves, the Presidential Unit Citation medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit award, the Good Conduct medal with bronze bar and two knots, the Air Force Good Conduct medal with 3 oak leaves, the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Air Force Longevity Service award ribbon with 3 oak leaves, the NCO PME Graduate ribbon, the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon with 1 oak leave, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal.

    He loved to fly and felt it an honor to serve his country doing so.
