H.A. “Tony” Rinck exemplified, in the finest sense, this country’s interest and commitment to aviation. Born in 1931, his exposure to aviation began early as he brought his mechanical aptitude to fruition during his military service to this country during the Korean War serving in the capacity of a crew chief of the C-124 “Globemaster”.
Upon completion of his military service, he returned to civilian life and embarked on a journey which led him through auto mechanics, teaching, airplane ownership, car racing, college and graduate school and ultimately to CTC, a technical college where he established a two-year aviation maintenance program in which a student received an A&P license upon successful completion of its requirements.
This final situation typifies his contribution to the aviation world – a blend of knowledge, truth, discipline, commitment to excellence, combined with his ability to teach. This has helped define his legacy. Besides his unwavering faith in God, country and family, his commitment to technical maintenance excellence has contributed to the aviation industry.
