Neil Beckwith (1937-2012) was a lifelong aviation enthusiast. As an engineer working at Bendix during the 1950's and 60’s he progressed from aircraft fuel controls, to brakes and finally missile systems. He worked on the Talos missile and was the manufacturer’s representative during sea trials on the USS Long Beach. He flew in many different craft from hot air balloons to vintage biplanes, and was sorely disappointed that medical issues kept him from earning a pilot’s license.
