    Early pioneer in air medical evacuation by helicopter, including international disaster relief missions in Iran, Tanzania, Yugoslavia, and Project hope off the coast of Chile.

    Awarded three Distinguished Flying Crosses for heroism, 22 Air Medals, and a Bronze Star while participating in aerial flight in the Republic of South Vietnam as "Dustoff 46" curing the Tet offensive and counter-offensive in 1967-1968.
