A World War II (WWII) veteran, Mr Triplett learned to fly after the war. He was a licensed pilot as well as an aircraft mechanic.
He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was actively involved in the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). He had built several aircraft as well as restoring many others. At the time of his death in 1972 he was building an aerobatic biplane. He is remembered as an aircraft builder as well as a pilot.
