    Odilo was born July 7, 1913 in a small community in Colorado County Texas by the name of Alleyton Texas. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas when he was six years old.
    His schooling culminated with Graduation from St. Henry’s High School. After High School he worked with his brother driving a truck to and from the Rio Grande Valley transporting fresh vegetables. During this time he was also being trained by his father in the art of Welding. This led to a job in Houston, Texas at a “Spring and Body Repair shop” doing Automotive Alignment. He eventually became part owner of the shop.
    When World War II broke out, he went to work at the Over haul and Repair Facility (O&R) at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. He enlisted in the Navy in December of 1942, at Camp Perry, Virginia.
    Upon entering the Navy, his metal crafting skills were put to use in the SEA BEES branch of the Navy. After a short training program, his platoon of craftsmen and engineers were sent to the Pacific Area to build runways and aircraft facilities on the islands.
    After active duty he was discharged from the Navy in December of 1945. He resumed his job at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi where he worked in various civil service jobs including Airframe Inspector. He retired in March 1978.
    Shortly after his active duty discharge, a Reserve Division was established for returning SEA BEES. He maintained this duty as an active reservist until July of 1972.
    In 1969-70, He was OFFICIALLY COMMENDED by THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY with the following inscription: …”Mr. Jaloway displayed ingenuity and dedication in accomplishing his tasks as a ’Supervisory Calibration and Measurement Quality Control Specialist‘. His meticulous attention to detail, his technical competence and his exceptional knowledge of the overall operation have contributed to successful attainment of mission goals by the Laboratory Division and by Directorate for Quality.” The document was signed by Luther Jones Jr. Colonel, TC, Commanding U.S Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center, Corpus Christi, Texas.
