While serving as a bombardier/navigator with the 751st Squadron of the 457th Group, 94th Combat Wing, 1st Division of the 8th Air Force, I flew 33 missions over Europe. I hold a Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the European Ribbon with 3 major battle stars (Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland), a crew citation and the French Diplome.
I hold a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and have been a public school teacher and administrator, University Professor, Department Head, Dean, and Research Professor. I have authored eight textbooks. I have a National Special Education Award named in my honor.
