Oscar J. Mifsud is President and Chief Executive Officer of The SMR Group, Ltd., and Aero-Instruments Co., LLC. The SMR Group was formed in 1998 for the purposes of transitioning from active ownership and management of SMR Aerospace to pursue additional acquisitions in the aviation industry. Aero-Instruments was acquired in August of 2001.
Mifsud was the President, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board and Owner of SMR Aerospace and CEO, Chairman and owner of its companies, SMR Technologies, Inc., and Flight Structures, Inc. (FSI). Mifsud, with his two partners, created SMR Aerospace in 1997. They acquired SMR Technologies in 1989 and FSI in 1994. He was responsible for all segments of SMR Aerospace and for directing, guiding, leading, and motivating all activities of the company toward achieving its strategic plan.
Previously, Mifsud held a variety of senior management positions throughout his 16-year career with BFGoodrich including General Manager, Aircraft De-Icing; General Manger, Engineered Rubber Products; and Marketing, Sales and Program Manager.
His professional memberships have included the National Business Aircraft Association; Aircraft Distributor Manufacturers Association; Society of Automotive Engineers, S-9 Cabin Safety Committee; American Helicopter Society; Helicopter Association International; American Defense Preparedness Association; United States Marine Safety Association; international Society of Transport Aircraft Trading; and Cargo Facts.
Mifsud was graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Ohio Northern University where he currently serves as a member on The Board of Trustees.
He resides in Wadsworth, Ohio, is married and has two adult children.
