    Otto Greene served in the US Air Force as an F-86-D and -L (Sabre) pilot. He was at Perrin Air Force Base (AFB), Texas in 1958, and with the 513th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS) in Phalsbourg, France from 1959 to 1960. From 1961 to 1962 he was assigned to Bitburg, Germany with the 525the FIS flying the F-102 Delta Dagger. Next, from 1962-1964, he flew the F-106 (Delta Dart) at Loring AFB, Maine.

    From 1964 on he flew with the Maine Air National Guard. His assignments with the 132nd FIS included flying the F-89 Scorpion from 1964 to 1970, and the F-102 from 1970 to 1971.

    From 1976 to 1984 he flew the KC-135 Stratotanker with the 132nd Air Refueling Squadron (ARS), and served as the 132nd ARS Squadron commander from 1981 until his retirement in 1984 as a lieutenant colonel.
