Entered the U.S. Navy Jan. 1941. Participated in the Battle of Midway in a PBY equipped with torpedo. Later torpedoed a cruiser at the Battle of Santa Cruise. Bombed a cruiser at Guadalcanal. Participated in the retaking of Guam. Later assigned as a Radio Gunner on Admiral Gunther'?’s PB4Y aircraft. Retired after 29 years service with three Air Medals, two DFCs and a Letter of Commendation from Admiral Halsey.
