Pat discovered a fear of flight on her first training mission. In keeping with her strong will and drive to succeed, she channeled that fear into developing excellence in customer service on each and every flight though-out her career. Her success was measured in hundreds of complimentary letters from first flyers to seasoned travelers among who were Paul Harvey, Dan Rather, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. She loved the challenge of the job and her humor and intellect garnered her positions in contract negotiations, arbitration, and election to the DCA Transport Workers Union chairmanship.
Following the demise of Eastern in 1991, she donated her uniforms and accessories to the National Air & Space Museum in hopes that they would in some small way, contribute to the history of in-flight services.
