    PAUL CARTER KLINE AIRPLANE PILOT HISTORY
    In the summer of 1942 Paul enlisted in the Air Corps Reserves in the War Training Service (WTS). In this program he went through Primary and Secondary flight training. Primary was from November 1942 to January 1943 at Wooster College, Wooster, Ohio where he flew Piper Cubs.
    He flew "secondary" in Owensboro, Kentucky from June to August 1943. He flew Waco-UBF's and L-5's. When he finished here he had 125 hours of flying time.
    In September 1943 he was inducted into the Army Air Corps at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio and sent to Keesler Field, Biloxi, Mississippi for "boot camp"
    ' From October 1943 to March 1944 he was in the 352nd College Training Detachment at Superior state Teachers College in Superior, Wisconsin. In February 1944 many AAF-Pre-Flight and Cadet training schools were closed.
    From March 21,1944 to July 1944 he was at the Army Air Base in Santa Ana, California, Squadron 66, 4thWing of Pilot Pre-flight School.
    From July 1944 to September 5,1944 he was at Rankin Aero Academy, Tulare, California training in PT-17's
    From September 10,1944 to December 23,1944 he was in Basic Pilot Training at Merced Army Air Field, Merced, California training in BT-13's and AT-6's.
    From December 31,1944 to March 11,1945 when he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. he was in Pilot Training at Pecos Army Air Field. Pecos, Texas.
    From April 28,1945 to September 17,1945 he was at 561st AA Base Unit (First Operational Training Unit) Ferrying Division ATC, Rosegrans Field, St. Joseph. Missouri. He was flying "war weary" planes to storage areas and new planes from factories to seacoast fields for overseas flights.
    From October 1945 to July 1946 he was stationed at 554th AA Base Unit (4th Ferrying Group) Continual Division Air Transport Command, Municipal Airport, Memphis, Tenn. On December 17,1945 he was promoted to 1st Lt.
    Early in July 1946 he was sent to Westover Field. Mass. for assignment to Bermuda Base Command, Kindley Field, Bermuda. He was stationed there as a Captain until May 19,1947 when he was honorably is charged at the Separation Center, Mitchel Field, New York.
