    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

My father Paul Ortstadt (b.1932 – d.2002)fell deeply in love with airplanes as a young boy. When old enough, he joined the Air Force with dreams of flying, until diagnosed with color blindness. After his Air force term was up, he received a degree in aeronautics and landed a job at Aerojet General as a test engineer on the Titan 2 engines for the Gemini Space Project. He was later a test engineer in the NERVA engine project. Dad said that his careers in the early space programs were the most fulfilling jobs of his life and he was so honored and proud to be a part of the U.S. space effort. He instilled in me his love of flying machines and the space program, which is why I want to honor him this way.
