    ?»?Paul Joseph Nugent
    Air Traffic Control

Paul Joseph Nugent Jr. was born in Manchester, NH on December 12, 1953. The son of an Air Force fighter pilot and Air Traffic Controller, you could say that aviation was in his blood from the very beginning. When Paul was in high school and college, he would spend nights at the airport with his friends, watching the planes take off and land. Amongst Paul?€™s many admirable traits is his incredible thirst for knowledge, his vast intelligence, his analytical mind, his attention to details, and most notably his ?€?steel trap?€? memory. All of these traits are essential elements for a career in aviation. Paul?€™s career was definitely meant to be.

Paul Graduated from Daniel Webster College, Nashua, N.H. in 1974 with a degree in Aviation Administration. Paul went on to pursue his career as an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA, and married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Roulx Nugent, shortly after. Paul worked at Worcester ATCT, Bridgeport, Conn. ATCT, Martha?€™s Vineyard ATCT, and Boston Logan TRACON. As a result of the PATCO Strike in 1981, Paul, along with all air traffic controllers, was forced to take a hiatus from Air Traffic Control.

In 1996 Paul made a fresh start with his career as a contract air traffic controller at Nashua Federal Contract Tower (FCT). He spent a year and one half at Nashua, transferring to Beverly Federal Contract Tower in the summer of 1997. In August Paul transferred to Lawrence FCT. Paul is currently the manager of Lawrence Municipal Air Traffic Control Tower on North Andover, Mass., where he has worked for the past 14 years.

Over the years Paul has become an avid cyclist, a talented photographer, a ?€?reader of all things?€?, and a dedicated family man. Paul has raised three children with his wife Cynthia, two of whom continued the family tradition in aviation, one as a corporate pilot for Liberty Mutual and a C-130 pilot, and the other as a flight attendant with Jet Blue. Obviously the ?€?Apples did not Fall Too Far From The Tree?€?, once again! Paul?€™s passion for his career and for the field of aviation in general has always been a constant in his life. Wherever there is an airport, and air show or an aviation museum, Paul can be found soaking up the ambiance and quenching his thirst for knowledge of anything aviation.
