The Stellar 3G Class of 2013

    Penny Leon Glackman
Teacher, Grade 3, Merion Elementary School, Merion, PA
Presidential Awardee for Excellence In Mathematics and Science Teaching
    AIAA, Educator Achievement Award

For more than 30 years, Penny Leon Glackman has worked to instill a love of learning in her elementary school students. Though she has been nationally recognized for excellence in math and science teaching, it is Mrs. Glackman’s passion for flight that has captured her students’ imaginations. Mrs. Glackman shares her love of space exploration with her students in and outside the classroom, igniting their curiosity about flight and deepening their understanding of our world. It is therefore fitting that the students of the 2013 Stellar 3G class should describe the reasons why Mrs. Glackman has earned a place on the National Air and Space Museum’s Wall of Honor:

Having Mrs. Glackman as a teacher is like finding an Earth-like planet light years away!

Mrs. Glackman has a passion for space. She has been to four launches and teaches us about space whenever we have free time. My favorite part of her class was Science Fridays because she taught us about mission launches, showed us launch videos and even let us wear lab coats to do science projects. She is an amazing teacher who I will never forget.

    Mrs. Glackman is:
    Awesome
    Great
    Cool
    Intelligent
    Great
    Out of this World!
    Spacey (in a good way)
    Nice

Mrs. Glackman loves space and NASA; she is a stellar teacher.

Mrs. Glackman is kind and beautiful. She is the best teacher.

I love Mrs. Glackman because of all the great science experiments we got to do.

I love that Mrs. Glackman has a cool-looking room... LOADS of space stuff.

If there is a Nobel Prize for space teachers, it should go to Mrs. Glackman.

Mrs. Glackman is a beautiful star who shines upon all her students. She is out of this world!

You have taught your students to gaze upward, look inward, and reach outward - thank you Mrs. Glackman!
