    Dr. Peter E. Glaser, PhD was born on September 5, 1923 in ®atec, Czechoslovakia. He was associated with Arthur D. Little, Inc., Cambridge, MA (1955 to 1994). He was project manager for the Apollo 11 Laser Ranging Retro-Reflector array installed on the lunar surface, on July 16, 1969, and two additional arrays on subsequent missions, as well as other lunar science and space experiments.

    The success of these experiments led him to develop the concept of solar power beamed from space for use on Earth. He was granted a patent for the Solar Power Satellite in 1973, now known as Space Solar Power, and was a founding member of the International Solar Energy Society.

    Dr. Glaser served on several NASA committees, formed the SUNSAT Energy Council in 1978, chaired the Space Power Committee of the International Astronautical Federation (1984-89), and served as President of the International Solar Energy Society (1984-89).

    He is a Director of the National Space Society, a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), a past president of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS), and a member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA). He was inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame in 1996. He is the author of more than 800 publications in his field of expertise. Dr. Glaser is listed in "Who's Who in America."
