    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

I developed an interest in space at a very early age and my grandmother bought me my first telescope when I was 5.1 saved all my money and bought myself an ETX-90 EC when I was 6.1 recently joined the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club to learn how to use my telescope to find other interesting objects in the night sky. I have seen Jupiter's red spot, Saturn's rings, 7 of the other 8 planets, sunspots, 3 comets, lots of meteorites, Andromeda, and our own Milky Way. I have been to Meteor Crater, Lowell Observatory Kennedy Space Center, Greenwich Observatory, the Orlando Science Center where I looked through telescopes, and the National Air and Space Museum where I touched a meteorite. Wherever we travel, I try to find something that has to do with space even if it is just the clear night sky. 1 was nicknamed "Space Ace" by my first grade class for my love of space. My teacher let me teach the lessons on space when I was in first grade. When the Mars Polar Lander was collecting names to send to Mars, I signed my entire class up and got on local TV when it was due to land. 1 love Math and Science and am in the advanced Math program at school. When given a history or biography project, 1 always select someone related to space. I hope to become either an astronomer or a NASA engineer. Whatever my future holds, I know that space will play an important role.
