Mr. Phillips J. Goodenough was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with two Gold Stars on May 25, 1950 by President of the United States for heroism and extraordinary and meritorious achievements in aerial flights during operations against enemy Japanese forces in the Philippine Islands Area, in 1945, with the United State Marine Corps.
