Philo Tyler ‘TY” Prior was born January 24, 1932.
1955 Completed basic training in Greenville, MS T-6, T-33
1955-1959 Flew Strategic Air Command from Homestead, FL B-47
1961- 1964 Worked as Sales Manager for Piper Aircraft in New York State and Vero Beach, FL
1964-1998 Managed, then owned Mann Aircraft, a Piper Dealer, in Sarasota, FL
1982-1992 Served on the Florida Governor’s Advisory Council on Aviation as a council member on behalf of general aviation.
Over the past 50 years, Ty Prior has flown literally tens of thousands of hours. He has been involved in the sale of more Piper Aircraft than perhaps anyone alive. His contribution to aviation has spanned several generations, influencing many newcomers to the field, some of whom turned out to be his own sons.
