Pioneer Aerospace has been a manufacturer of aerodynamic decelerator systems since 1938. During this long history, Pioneer has designed and developed numerous systems for the United States Department of Defense and NASA.
In its support of NASA, Pioneer has participated in development of the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster Parachute Recovery System, Galileo Jupiter Probe Descent System, X-38 International Space Station Prototype Crew Return Vehicle Parafoil Landing System, Stardust Comet Sample Return Capsule Landing System, and Genesis Solar Particle Sample Return Capsule Recovery System.
Pioneer?’'s proudest accomplishment in recent history is our support of NASA'?’s exploration of Mars with the design and development of the very successful Parachute Decelerator Systems for the Mars Pathfinder and Mars Exploration Rover Landers.
