    Bellur L. Nagabhushan was born in India and came to the United States in 1971 to pursue his graduate studies. He received his B.Tech. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. After completing his studies in 1976, he joined Goodyear Aerospace Corporation at Akron, Ohio, where he did pioneering work on Lighter-Than-Air vehicles and evolved hybrid, buoyant rotorcraft and modern airship configurations involving thrust vector controls for V/STOL flight. He also invented and demonstrated sequential dispensing concepts for smart dispensers used in defense systems. Subsequently, he joined Bendix division of The Allied Signal Aerospace Company in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he was involved in developing FBW flight control systems for aircraft.

    Dr. Nagabhushan is at present a tenured Full Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at Saint Louis University, in Saint Louis, MO, where he has been teaching and conducting research since 1988. He was elected as an Associate Fellow of AIAA in 1983 and as a Fellow of the Aeronautical Society of India in 1997. He has authored over 75 research papers and journal articles, and holds several patents. He has been an Associate Editor of the Journal of Aircraft since 1983 and has been serving on many national technical committees of AIAA.
