Professor Rardon has been recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a leader in aviation maintenance and aviation technician education. In 1984/85 he developed and conducted nation-wide seminars regarding Federal Aviation Regulation Part 147 (Aviation Maintenance Technician Schools). These seminars, attended by FAA & school personnel, have been recognized as the initial thrust of activity that has resulted in proposed changes to the regulation. He also helped initiate activity which led to the proposed revision to Federal Aviation Regulation Part 65 (Mechanic Certification). One of his main goals throughout his 30 years of teaching was to improve the image and capabilities of the aviation maintenance technician.
