    Professor Shamsher Singh was born in an affluent family in India on January 5, 1943. After completing his higher secondary school studies in India, he moved to West Virginia in 1962 and attended West Virginia University. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, he moved to Huntington, WV in 1966 and attended Marshall University, receiving a Masters Degree in 1969.
    Thereafter, he joined Fort Valley State University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. He left FVSU in 1979 to undertake further postgraduate studies at Georgia State University. After completing his studies at GSU, he joined the Georgia State Judicial Service in 1986 as a consultant in the Judicial Department. After suffering a serious accidental injury in 1999, he retired from the Georgia State Judicial Service. Later on, he was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Singhasan Charitable Trust Foundation (SCTF) in India in 2001. He became CEO of the foundation in 2003. As the CEO of SCTF, he became an ex-officio commandant of the SCTF security force, with the rank of Brevet Major General. Professor Shamsher Singh resides at his estate in Fort Valley, GA.
