    Professor Thomas Rudolphi's passion and focus was in the academic business of getting young people interested in careers in aerospace fields -getting them excited about the challenges therein, the interesting, rewarding and indeed thrilling areas of work and research that are possible in the aerospace field. He was especially involved in the fundamentals of the engineering disciples that go into preparing college students at Iowa State University for aerospace careers. Student's concerns were high priority for Professor Rudolphi, and he earned the respect of all students he worked with. Professor Rudolphi's research focused on computational methods and computational mechanics for aerospace structures, especially the use of singular integral equations as a means and basis of computational methodologies.
