    William Streets was born in Thurso, Grindstone Island, New York Dec 2, 1898 and died in Binghamton, NY Feb 27, 1960. He enlisted in 1917 in the US Navy and during 1918 and early 1919 served at Hampton Roads (Company 913, Unit S, Aviation Regiment USNO Base, Hampton Roads, VA -- now Norfolk Naval Base). There he learned to maintain and repair World War I (WWI) float aircraft, namely Jennies.

    He was discharged in early 1919 and worked in the insurance industry for the balance of his life in upstate New York. His principal residence for most of the time was in the Albany, NY area.
