    Graduated from MIT in the Depression era with a degree in aeronautical engineering. Worked for such early aircraft companies as Viking Flying Boat, Stinson, Waco, and spent 30 years with the Glenn L. Martin Company.
    Ended his career with the FAA when plans were being made for whether or not Boeing was going to build an SST.
